Chairman’s Message

A message from the Executive Chairman, Fola Kudehinbu: On behalf of the Board of Directors, it is my pleasure to introduce ACCCE (UK). The ACCCE Board of Directors has a wealth of experience from a wide range of business backgrounds with a comprehensive understanding of the unique needs and challenges facing African & Caribbean businesses in the UK and those businesses in Africa & Caribbean seeking to operate in the UK. We aim to “bridge that gap” and I look forward to welcoming you to ACCCE UK.

  • To listen to the African and Caribbean business communities and respond to the issues that are important to them
  • To engage with UK government departments, Corporate Britain, UK business support organizations to advocate on behalf of our members

African & Caribbean Young Enterprise (ACYE)

The Chamber has established the African & Caribbean Young Enterprise (ACYE) as a vehicle to nurture and grow our “business leaders of tomorrow”. ACYE actively encourages and develops young entrepreneurs and business owners from African and Caribbean backgrounds.

ACCCE (Africa & Caribbean)

The Chamber is bridging the gap between African and Caribbean businesses in the UK and businesses in Africa and Caribbean. The rationale for developing business and enterprise services specifically for Africa and Caribbean is simple and straightforward – the tremendous opportunities that exist are not being fully harnessed due to a lack of an effective structure to facilitate effective business transactions. The following are relevant:

  • Africa (52 countries - 1 billion population)

       o    2009 UK Export (26 countries excluding North Africa) - £5bn

  • The Caribbean (25 countries - 41 million population)

        o    2009 UK export (9 countries) - £600m

  • The African & Caribbean community in the UK – nearly 4 million population, increasing middle class, most entrepreneurial group in the UK, large informal export and import business transactions with Africa and Caribbean.

We aim to help remove the policy and structural barriers that currently prevent such transactions for the benefit of our members and partners.
